Borders have enhanced the tradition and character of this popular style of timber & steel wine racking with a choice of timbers and the introduction of a more positive, but still nail-less, method of securing the frame within the timber.
All timber has been dressed and sanded to higher standards, with sharp edges liable to splintering & assembly or bottle damage removed from the length of the rails.

In addition to our standard sizes of DIY kits, we also specialise in making up custom sized ready to assemble kits or pre-assembled racking matched to your own size and space requirements.
NOTES ABOUT CUSTOM WINE RACKS
The above form is only suitable for calculating square or rectangular racks in the 60 to 300 pocket size range.
For irregular shaped racks (for under stair applications, for example) and larger and smaller racks , please email or phone us with your requirements and we will be pleased to custom quote a rack for you.

We recommend large racks of this general concept only be assembled by competent “handy” or trades persons. All custom kits and pre-assembled racks with any dimension longer than 10 pockets are therefore delivered as two or more smaller racks that require joining together. This method of delivery also minimises the risk of in-transit damage and makes it easier to install the racks. All Joining parts are automatically included and delivered with the racks, together with instructions on the joining process. The joining process includes hiding the joints.
Racks taller than 12 pockets must be securely attached to a vertical surface. Attaching brackets for this purpose are automatically included free of charge with all deliveries that require them. |

Custom wine racks are supplied for assembly at a specified size and shape and, as a general rule, are not suitable for reconfiguring. Delivery of large racks as two or more smaller rack can however make the rack easier to break-down when relocating it.
JOINING RACKS
Borders Joiners and Filler Straps are available for joining assembled racks together to build a bigger rack.
These are only required to be purchased separately when ordering 2 or more Standard DIY kits that you intend joining together or when joining new racking to existing. Joining two racks creates an extra row or column of pockets and adds 9.5 cm to the width or height of the rack.
Joiners and Filler Straps do not require ordering separately with Custom racking because they will be automatically included in the rack package when required.

The Joiners are used to securely connect the racks to each other, with the Filler Straps then being fitted to hide the joint and give the steel framework continuity across the full face of the rack.
Joiners (2 per Rail) should be evenly spaced across the full length of the joint, spaced at not more than 3 Rails apart in horizontal joints or not more than 5 Rails apart in vertical joints.
Filler Straps are only required across the front face of the rack, fitted at every Rail.
